POWER PLANT Two units of gas-based power plant of 490 MW each at Dadri by the National Thermal Power Corporation were commissioned to light up Delhi during the Games. The plant started functioning earlier this year.
HOTEL ROOMS AND BED Around 30,000 of the 40,000 hotel rooms will be ready for the Games.
CIVIC INFRASTRUCTURE The re-modelled roads with new pavements, light posts, enhanced green cover, swanky street furniture and bus shelters, the Barapulla Link Road between East and Central Delhi, and the new flyovers are part of city's infrastructure gain.
SWANKY AIRPORT, METRO AND RAILWAY STATION The mandate for the private airport developer in Delhi was to complete much of the development work at the Indira Gandhi International Airport well in time for the Games. The DMRC will be opening its New Delhi railway station-IGIA link and the Central Secretariat-Badarpur link in South Delhi by the end of this month.
TOURISM BOOST Delhi has emerged as a global tourism destination thanks to the Games. The spruced-up city is set to welcome an estimated 1,00,000 tourists.
